GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Superintendent to join the United team. The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day safety, quality and productivity of all team members staffed on assigned projects and ensuring that the project schedule for completion is executed and planned. The Superintendent also oversees the coordination of resources and control of work for the entire project to include distribution of drawings and instructions to the project foreman, for the construction and assembly of piping and other material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Ensure all planned activities are coordinated and oversees the work carried out by all project personnel with direct involvement during complex construction stages.
- Inspect documents, check available assembly material, and delegate work to foreman as necessary.
- Define the assembly welding jobs, identifying the parts to be prefabricated at the workshop and the welding jobs to perform upon assembly.
- Lead the project team in preparing as-built drawings, with all variations made throughout the project.
- Ensure that the proper resources are procured including personnel and equipment and promptly report any interference with and/or variations to the work of other parties to the Account Manager
- Provide quantitative data produced for issuing the State of Works Progress
- Control the execution of works, while guaranteeing quality, ensure the operative program is complied with and check that applicable safety standards are observed.
- Establishes accountability and performance objectives for direct reports. Conducts performance evaluations, identifies training needs, initiates professional development opportunities, and recommends effective action plans. Manages performance related issues and implements corrective action as necessary.
- Provides coaching and guidance for the foreman and field staff to assist in delivering projects according to budget and schedules as well resolving interpersonal and escalated issues.
- Works in conjunction with other internal teams to coordinate resources and resolve project or jobsite related issues.
- Develops mutually beneficial relationships with customers to understand expectations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Act as a resource to assist in resolving any escalated issue with customers, customer representatives or inspectors.
- Establishes and prioritizes workflow in conjunction with project schedule. Reviews the daily schedule and assists in establishing work assignments, communicates daily activities and goals to foreman and project team.
- Evaluates the feasibility for requests for changes in project scope. Works in conjunction with the Account Managers to process and communicate approved change orders.

REQUIREMENTS:
- At Least 10 years of field experience.
- Must be a journeyman Pipe Fitter. NCCER Journeyman’s card preferred.
- OSHA 30
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Able to check weld quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Excellent planning, organizational and leadership skills
- Position requires work at the jobsite location with up to 70% travel time.
