Expected hours: Minimum 58 hrs /week up to 72 hrs/week
General Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Pipefitter to join the United team. You must be able to comprehend individual project scopes, interpret blueprints and collaborate with other professionals on the job to ensure a mutual understanding of responsibilities. A successful Pipefitter will operate as a team player, furthering the goals of the company as a whole and co-workers individually, while being a self-starter who can work independently.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems in accordance with blueprints and specifications
- Build and rig pipe systems for various applications, including HVAC systems
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to determine pipe layouts and configurations
- Use precision tools such as calipers to measure and cut pipes to the required length
- Assemble and fabricate pipe components, including fittings, valves, and supports
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations during all installation and repair work
- Perform tube bending and shaping as needed to fit pipes into designated spaces
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in using precision tools such as calipers for accurate measurements
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing pipefitting work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions accurately
