International Paper was undergoing an expansion and tasked United Group Services with the necessary fabrication work.

Challenge

A significant amount of pipe welding was needed for the job, but it would be installed by another contractor. Their scrutiny was relentless, but UGS fabricators are accustomed to performing under the highest of quality standards.

Solution

United Group Services conducted over 42,000 feet of pipe welding on the job with 90% stainless steel. It was all fabricated within its dedicated stainless-only fabrication shop, which eliminates cross contamination and ensures there is no rust. Having the ability to segregate the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless steel leads to the better quality products that set United Group Services head and shoulders above other contractors.
